Disability insurance can keep you financially stable should you become disabled and unable to work. It can help provide a sense of security, knowing that if the unexpected should happen, you’ll still receive a monthly income.
Voluntary Short-Term Disability (STD) — Plan A
- You are eligible to receive STD benefits after you have been disabled for 14 days due to a non-work-related illness or injury.
- Replaces up to 30% of your eligible income, up to a maximum of $1,200 per week.
- Benefits end after 26 weeks.
Voluntary Short-Term Disability (STD) — Plan B
- You are eligible to receive STD benefits after you have been disabled for 7 days due to a non-work-related illness or injury.
- Replaces up to 30% of your eligible income, up to a maximum of $1,200 per week.
- Benefits end after 26 weeks.
Company-Provided Long-Term Disability (LTD) — UNUM Core LTD Plan
- You are eligible to receive LTD benefits after 360 days of disability
- Replaces up to 50% of your eligible income, up to a maximum of $2,000 per month until you recover or reach your Social Security Normal Retirement Age, whichever is sooner.
Voluntary Long-Term Disability (LTD) — UNUM Buy-Up LTD Plan
- You are eligible to receive LTD benefits after 180 days of disability.
- Replaces up to 60% of your eligible income, up to a maximum of $8,000 per month until you recover or reach your Social Security Normal Retirement Age, whichever is sooner.
